Bauchschmerzen beim Trinken aufs Vaterland? Das Oktober-Maurerwort!

Liebe Brüder,
bei unserem traditionellen Tafellogen-Trinkspruch aufs Vaterland haben jüngere Brüder oft Bauchschmerzen.
Auch für mich ist der Begriff »Vaterland« nicht ganz unvorbelastet.
»In Friedenszeiten nennt man das Vaterland schlicht Heimat.«
So bringt ein Schriftsteller mein Unwohlsein und Begriffsverständnis auf einen Nenner.
Was aber ist denn »Heimat«?
Die Antwort hat mir kürzlich im Fernsehen ein alter Mann gegeben: Arnold Packbier.

Ist Freimaurerei lustig? Gute Frage! Jedenfalls lädt sie offenbar manchmal dazu ein, sie wenigstens nicht ganz ernst zu nehmen. Gerade die Außenstehenden seltsam anmutenden Rituale scheinen dazu gemacht zu sein, sie auch zu persiflieren – und das übrigens nicht nur durch »Dick und Doof« in ihrem Film »Die Wüstensöhne«. Der britischen Erfolgs-Comedy »Hale and Pace« lieferte das Logen-Brauchtum sogar schon eine Steilvorlage für einen Sketch unter der Gürtel-Linie.
